Lola Barraud (b. 2001) is a French artist, based in Helsinki. She works with performance, sculpture, installation and sound art. Lola's work examines human relationships, how we connect, rely on and seek for others. She explores aspects of love, its presence, absence, and definitions. Her art reflects on how the individual’s sense of bodily awareness can be influenced, challenging the boundaries of personal space and the concept of intimacy.

Lola Barraud, born in 2001, is a French artist currently living Helsinki. She is pursuing a Master’s degree at the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki, having completed her Bachelor of Art at the TALM-Angers School of Art and Design in France. Lola was presented in group exhibitions at Vapaan Taiteen Tila, Ateneum and Le MAT Montrelais, and she also performed live coding music at various venues, including the Museum Jean Lurçat, the Museum of Fine Arts of Angers, Grrrnd Zero and Chabada concert halls.

Her artistic work spans a diverse range of mediums, primarily focusing on audiovisual installations, performances, sculpture, and sound art. Lola’s work delves into the theme of relationships, how humans relate to one another. She explores aspects of love, its presence, absence, and definitions. Lola investigates the concept of intimacy and the boundaries of personal space. Her art reflects on the physicality of bodies, the impact of objects on spatial environments, and how these elements influence an individual’s sense of bodily awareness or proprioception. Lola often employs a scientific approach, by collecting data through projects that unfold over time. Her art draws on individuals’ perspectives, opinions, and unique experiences.
